Improve your SEO with touch points

Touch Point definition: A point of contact or interaction, especially between a business and its customers or consumers: every touch point must reflect, reinforce, and reiterate your core brand strategy. Oxford Dictionary

How many touch points does your small business have out there and are they optimized for SEO?

Here are a few and there are many more………..

Website

The website you have is the easy answer but can you believe that still there are around 50% of businesses who don’t have a website! If you are getting a website, choose a professional company, choose a great platform, make sure it is mobile responsive and don’t scrimp.

Optimize – Make sure it reflects, reinforces and reiterates your core brand strategy.

Social Media

I have put social media second and many people still are not using this platform to optimize their search results. You need to have a strategy, you need to post regularly and you need to be consistent. Only use the platforms where your ideal clients are and ensure that your description about your business is optimized.

Optimize – Make sure it reflects, reinforces and reiterates your core brand strategy.

Blogging

If you are a business who has a blog I hope that it is part of your website as this affords you are whole other space to reaffirm your message. If it is external to your website you must ensure there is enough content via a description which is optimized. You need to have a strategy, you need to post regularly and you need to be consistent.

Optimize – Make sure it reflects, reinforces and reiterates your core brand strategy.

Directories

There are many free directories that allow you a detailed description about your business. Make sure you are on as many as are relevant to your business. Paid directories are not necessarily better, do your research and list your business on the free ones first. Make sure your details are kept up to date on these directories. Ones like True Local have great SEO and often show up in Google search results long before your website.

Optimize – Make sure it reflects, reinforces and reiterates your core brand strategy.

YouTube Video

Another great touch point for your business and one that can be a business all on it’s own, we wrote about this recently.

Optimize – Make sure it reflects, reinforces and reiterates your core brand strategy.

Google is the number one search engine

Everything you do in regard to promoting your business should be working hard to improve the results you have online.

Think of yourself – what do you do when you are looking for someone or something?
