How to Captivate, Convert and retain more Clients

Any small business needs clients/customers to survive but how do you captivate, convert and retain more clients. By asking yourself several questions you will be well on the way to getting more people on board and loving your brand.

Are you appealing to the right people?

Take a step back from your business for a minute and just see that it is presenting itself correctly to your preferred client base.

If you have been in business for a while now have you updated your presentation to prospective clients?

There is no point if your brand appeals to people who don’t want or need your product or service. Are you targeting the right people for your products or services? How do you figure this out?

You need to create an avatar of your client – What is an Avatar?

It is the specific description of who wants what you have and should be written and pinned somewhere in your office. If you have several client types then you should also have several avatars.

A vision board (like a designer would use) is another way of creating the view of your ideal client!

Are you unique?

Yes, the usual unique selling proposition, niche or whatever you would like to call it.

How are you and your business positioned differently in the market place?

How do you present this unique quality to your preferred client?

Why will they choose you?

Are you an expert?

In your chosen industry are you confident in your knowledge, both new and existing that you are an expert in your field!

Now without being arrogant you can present your self as an expert in several ways. These can be within your existing business offer or you may stretch yourself further a field.

  • A book
  • Public Speaking
  • A blog
  • An E-Book

How to Captivate, Convert and Retain more clients is a combination of all this and more.

Your clients need to know they are respected and loved, this will keep you top of mind with them and keep them coming back for more or at least raving about your work to others.

An example of a simple incentive is the coffee card where you are rewarded after purchasing a number of coffees. It can be even easier though and depending on your type of business, a personal email, quick phone call, call in and say hello and more.

It is just a matter of remembering that your clients and customers are people too, and they like to feel special.

“What can you do today to make your tribe feel special”?

Making your potential clients feel special is a way you can aim to convert them into actual clients. Listen to what they have to say, give them time, offer them your best service and you will find that converting them becomes an easier task.

Remember that it is easier and cheaper to continue doing business with the people that know you than it is to find new ones. If you business in one where people tend to only need your service once, then make sure that your clients are fans of your business. When they are fans they will tell other people about you.
