You’ve got a business or a business idea and the first thing you need is a logo. Everyone needs a logo, right? Wrong. Every business needs a brand and this is why.
- A brand is a company’s face to the world – it shows their values and can influence the way their customers feel about the company.
- A brand is the company’s name and how that name is visually expressed through a brand and it’s communications (website, business cards, letterheads etc.)
- A brand is also how the company is perceived by it’s customers – the memories and associations they make with your business, as well as the value they place on your products or services.
- A brand can be a promise – it shows the principles of the company to anyone who contacts them.
A brand is hugely important to gaining and keeping customers – if done well, it can become a point of conversation and drive sales further.
So, how do you make a brand for your company?
Hire a designer. A proper designer, not just the cheapest you can find! The return on investment (when customers share your website, business cards and promotional material with their friends) can be tenfold on what you will pay a good designer.
A designer will take on board your businesses values and goals and design a brand to encapsulate those things. They will design a brand that will not only attract customers but will convince them that you are trustworthy and professional.
A really good designer can convince your customers to purchase your services/products just through the colours they use. This same designer can also influence the way they feel about your brand by the colours they use.
The importance of a brand is just as important as delivering a quality product or service. Hire a designer and realise the importance of small business branding.
